One other of the fabulous times I've had here was when my friend Laura and her friend Sophie visited Puerto Rico a few weeks back. It really drove home the fact that I miss home and my friends, and how important it is to stay in touch with the people we care about. Now Laura is doing a traineeship in Sweden (check out her blog http://lauraelliott.nomadlife.org ) and seems to be having a wonderful time. It was great having both Laura and Sophie here. I laughed so much during that week, and we got a lot out of Laura in terms of AIESEC (hehe) as she facilitated one of our planning processes in this restructuring that we are doing.
And how about the rum? I think I hadn't consumed that much rum until Laura and Sophie got here. My god! It became a nightly thing as rum is so good and cheap here. Great times, great times!
Anyway, that's all I wanted to say about that. It is good to have friends like these. Laura has been an inspiration to me in many ways and I'm sure this'll continue in the future! Luv ya Loz!
Okay, so this is my first posting. I've been a sceptic with these blog things but Nic Trim convinced me it would be a good idea and, after looking at his blog and also John's I got enough motivation to have one, so here it is. My apologies if my entries aren't the most interesting you've ever seen, but I will try and keep them as upbeat as possible.
To begin with I'd like to upload a couple of photos of our Leadership Development Seminar here in Puerto Rico. We all had an awesome time and not only delivered an exciting conference, but we, as a team, learnt a lot about ourselves and each other. Appart from the sessions and what not, I have to say the best thing about the whole weekend were the pool parties under the rain. I don't think I've ever experienced a conference quite like this one before, EVER. Plus, all we had in attendance of the male kind was 3 boys... SAY WHAT!! I know, tragic, but that seems to be the trend here in AIESEC, all girls no boys :-( Oh and I'd like to introduce you to my team, these are some of the best people you'll ever meet. Luv 'em!!
This is Natalia, aka Broco. She loves dogs and has two pugs of her own. She's also the funniest happiest person you'll ever meet and is the sweetest!
This is Carla, my housemate and wonderful party person. As spontaneous as she is, you never know what's coming from her. She's great at listening to people and giving advice.
This is Sandra, directly from the UK. She is awesome and always up for a drink (and they call ME a drunk!), and with her you'll never be bored. She's a great friend and she puts up with a lot of my issues, hehe.
Anyway, these are my people and this is Puerto Rico. I love this place and I love everyone I'm surrounded by. I recommend you stop by and stay with us whenever you're looking for a great holiday with a bit of a challenge (because don't think you'll get out of doing AIESEC stuff while you're here...) But yeh, check us out.
